*BW-Clarion* 2000 bay Premium Oldenburg mare, 16.2 hh CHESTER x ANOTHER GEL Known around the barn as “Rio”, Rio is a gorgeous dark bay filly by Hilltop Farm stallion Chester (by Cabaret) out of Another Gel, a Thoroughbred mare. With her beautiful conformation, gorgeous head and lovely movement, we have big plans for our Rio. She is progressing well in her hunter training and we plan to show her next year in the Baby Greens. She is an extremely affectionate horse and we love her. She was purchased from her breeder Blue Waters Farm as a future broodmare prospect as well as a show prospect. She comes from excellent bloodlines, descending from the great Cor de la Bryere on her sire’s side and from Princequillo on her dam’s Thoroughbred bloodline.
With her exceptional attributes, we couldn’t miss out on breeding her, but we don’t want to interrupt her show career, or take any chances with our treasure, so look for her foal via embryo transfer in the next few years. UPDATE: Our beloved Rio became ill last year and subsequently foundered in all four of her feet. For those of you who have been concerned for her, we wanted you to know that she is very slowly recovering and is now begun to enjoy limited turnout again. We hope she will be able to live a comfortable life as our beloved pet and thank those who have wished her well.
