After
Glow, (aka “Ellie”) was an 8.5 premium Oldenburg
foal and the top ranked Oldenburg filly foal in the country
in 1993. She has since gone on to have successful careers in
both the amateur owner hunters and in dressage. This big, beautiful
mare is a lovely mover, has beautiful conformation and a very
pretty head. Her super sweet, gentle temperament makes her a
joy to have around the barn. She is a wonderful mother and makes
a strong bond with her foals. In addition to her fine Dutch
bloodlines from Art Deco, she also has the famous Bold Ruler
in her bloodlines on her dam’s side. Ellie has had three wonderful foals by Sempatico for us so far, the outstanding dark bay and white 2005 filly,
Heart’s Hope; a gorgeous black and white 2006 filly, Heart’s Symphony and this year's colt, the stunning Heart’s Safari. Both Hope and Safari were Gold Premium foals and the high scoring foals at their respective inspections. Symphony unfortunately missed her foal inspection but was inspected this year and received very favorable comments from the judge. In addition to being an excellent producer, Ellie took on a new role this year when she served as an adopted mom to our orphaned foal, Heart’s Justice (aka “TJ”). Thanks to her, TJ was able to live like a relatively normal foal after his mom died suddenly when he was just a month old. He never tried to nurse from Ellie, but she has served as his mom in every other way. We will always be grateful to her for giving TJ a normal life.
